The upcoming event of the Biodiversity Protection Community of the Interreg MED Programme will take place at the Orto Botanico in Rome on the 6 and 7 May 2019.

On the 6th of May, the first session will focus on presenting the latest tools developed by the Community projects and will be followed by a Capitalisation workshop  opened to regional stakeholders, including policy makers, resource managers and scientists as well as representatives of the private sector to debate on how the main findings of the Biodiversity Protection Community can be used to solve real environmental issues affecting the Mediterranean region.

On the 7th of May, the second session of this event will focus on two main topics:

  1. Threats and challenges faced by land sea interfaces and sustainable coastal best practices acting as Nature-based solutions to tackle the negative impacts identified.
  2. Best practices linked to co-management and participatory approaches for the sustainable use of  natural resources in the whole Mediterranean Sea basin.
